I’m not going to say it was a bad movie, because if you enjoy The Great Gatsby you’ll love this. I’m just going to say it wasn’t for me. I read the book in high school but I really didn’t remember anything about the story whatsoever, so watching the movie was pretty much an all-new…And speaking of the 1920s…. all of the Jay-Z music in this movie seemed so out of place. It was weird. It was almost as if the producers/director was like “Hey… we have permission to use all this Jay-Z music but this is a movie about the 20s…. fuck it.. lets use it anyway”. So you see a bunch of white niggas walking down the street while “Izzo” is playing.
Haven’t seen the movie yet, but I knew this was gonna be my main problem before I ever saw it…As soon as a commercial said, “Music produced by Jay-Z” I thought to myself, “What fucking sense does that make.” Disappointed to hear I was right.
